When I was first approached to do this type of job there were so many different emotions going through me. Nerves, excitement, uncertainty and apprehensiveness but I also felt a sigh of relief. Not because I didn't enjoy my current position but because I had an opportunity to be recognised for my own hard work but also have my say on what happens within the business to have a positive impact.

The feeling of having control over what I do also felt daunting in the way of having courage to take accountability for my work and the clients we interact with on a weekly basis and if you get it wrong there is nowhere to hide, you can't treat it as a 'tomorrow problem' or 'someone else's problem, but with great risk can come great reward. The reward of helping a business owner make their business flourish when they have been stuck for some time or when their social media's are hitting off for the first time when they didn't think it was possible. You make the impossible become possible in their eyes.
Before I became a Virtual PA , I wasn't sure what career I wanted and thought was possible. We all have our dream jobs of a vet, doctor, actor, scientist nut half the people who talk about their dream jobs aren't confident enough or academic enough to be able to achieve the grades needed. Me personally? I didn't know what I wanted and I know I am not alone in that. I was under the impression that to get rich and get a high earning job you needed to be the smartest of the smartest and because I wasn't in that category, not because I wasn't clever enough or worked hard, but because in an exam situation the pressure and stress would just become so unbearable I couldn't perform well, so therefore I didn't have the confidence or ability to aim for my dream job.
However, becoming a Virtual PA has given me the freedom to have all the attributes of a dream job. I get to help people achieve their goals, take accountability for my work and being able to be proud and recognised for what I am producing not just for myself but for others around me.
I think the main point of this small blog is whilst I am still trying to navigate around the world we live in, is if you want to make changes and give yourself freedom, not just financially but in time management and have more control over your day to day life you have to be brave and take a risk no matter what the size.
What is the worst that could happen? Why are the what if's stopping you? If you believe you will succeed, chances are you will.
