The transformation from university to full time work can be really difficult for new graduates. The feeling of emptiness that can appear after the excitement of graduation can be incredibly hard to grasp. You go from routines and deadlines, to endless job applications and rejections. This is why, during this period between studies, I decided to dive into something I have always wondered if I could do. Becoming a Virtual Assistant.

This change has not been a walk in the park, however the improvement that this job has had on my mental health is unlike any other. Our business, The Versatile Support Team Ltd, is made up of five of us. Each one of us comes from different backgrounds, with widely different skills to offer. Although, this is what makes us the best team we could be. This is due to the fact that despite our differences, we all have the same goal, to succeed. Having such an amazing group of ladies around me, while doing a job that I am so passionate about, has been the greatest thing for my mental health.
Another incredible thing that becoming a virtual assistant has done for my mental health, is giving me more time and freedom. Along with transitioning away from university, I am also raising a puppy at home. This is a massive commitment and can often be difficult to manage. However, becoming a virtual assistant has given me the time to work from home to ensure I can do what I love while also looking after my pup.
Finally, redirecting back to the team around me, having such an amazing support system around me while being in this job is the reason I can do my best work.
